Something about us...”the owners” As a local family, we are extremely excited to have opened a family café bistro on Abbey Lane, Sheffield. We are husband and wife (Jules and Jo) and live just outside Woodseats with our two young children. Jules’ is the face you will soon become familiar with, working ‘front of house’ ensuring you are being looked after in a way that customers should be, whilst also regularly 'doubling up' as one of your chefs to make sure your food is created to your personal order! Jules has covered all aspects of the restaurant trade, from kitchen help and barman to chef and restaurant management. Having worked in restaurants and bars for over 20 years, his enthusiasm for ensuring high quality food is served with outstanding service at affordable prices will be evident when you visit us at 'Spoon'. Taking a more ‘behind the scenes’ role, Jo used her management background to establish the business and get us to the point of opening! Whilst continuing her part-time post as a manager within the NHS, Jo continues to support the business side of running ‘Spoon’ by focussing on what many describe as the 'boring but essential bits'. You may also see her with the two children "quality controlling the food"... ! Having both always had a great passion for delivering high standards of service and customer satisfaction we are delighted to be able to welcome you to our own café bistro, finally realising a life time personal ambition for Jules. With much thanks to family, friends and supporting customers, we have managed to establish a growing business over our first year. In response, we have been very lucky in recruiting two fantastic chefs to assist Jules. Stuart started demonstrating his skills in 'Spoon's' kitchen in July 2012, with Lindsay being a great addition to the team more recently in September.
